Matthew Sklar and Chad Beguelin have been a songwriting team for over twenty-five years. Between them they have been nominated for eight Tony® Awards, five Drama Desk Awards and one Emmy®.

Their critically-acclaimed Broadway musical THE PROM recently ran at the Longacre Theatre and is slated to become a feature film for Netflix directed by Ryan Murphy and starring Meryl Streep, Nicole Kidman and James Corden. Other Broadway credits include ELF and THE WEDDING SINGER.

Additional produced works include WICKED CITY, JUDAS AND ME and THE RHYTHM CLUB.

Matthew and Chad have been the recipients of the ASCAP Richard Rodgers New Horizons Award, the Gilman / Gonzalez-Falla Theatre Award, The Dramatists Guild of America Frederick Loewe Award for Dramatic Composition, The Edward Kleban Award and the Jonathan Larson Performing Arts Foundation Award.

Their musicals have been produced internationally in the UK, Japan, Australia, Germany, Spain, Denmark, Sweden, Hong Kong, Argentina and many other countries around the world.  

They have served as mentors for the Dramatists Guild Fellows Program, panelists for the ASCAP / Grow a Show workshop and have written several opening numbers for Broadway Bares, the charity burlesque that benefits Broadway Cares / Equity Fights AIDS.
